Good morning, everyone . My name is Zhangwei. I come from Saitou primary school of Changsha county . I’m very glad to talk about the teaching design of Unit2 English for children in Hunan province Spring is warm. Today , I’ll talk about the first period. I prepare to say this lesson from 5parts.

Part1 Analysis of the teaching materials Status and functions

This is an important lesson in Book Two of Grade4.It is about how to describe the seasons’ differences . This topic is related to our daily life , so it ’s helpful for students to raise their interests and it will be helpful to improve their spoken English.

Analysis of the students

The students have learned some simple words and sentences about the weather . Words : hot,cool,cold ,warm…… Sentences : I like …,…is….

So , they will be very interested in this new lesson . Part2 Teaching aims

According to the teaching materials , I made the following aims: 1. Knowledge aims

(1).Enable students to master the new words :spring、summer、autumn、winter. (2).Enable students to use the pattern : I like spring .Spring is warm. (3).Enable students to sing a short chant about the four seasons. 2. Ability aims

(1). To develop the Ss’ abilities of listening, speaking, and reading.

(2). To understand how to identify the four seasons and how to describe them . Emotion aims

Encourage the students to do something to save our environment and the earth .

Part 3 Teaching key and difficult points

According to the contents of this lesson ,I made the following points ( PPT show ) 1.Key points:

(1). To help the Ss to master the new words : spring , summer , autumn and winter. (2). Use the simple words and sentences to describe the seasons in our daily life .

2.Difficult points:

Use the simple words and sentences to describe the four seasons . Part 4 Teaching methods

As we know ,students are the main part of the classroom teaching . So , in order to develop their abilities of listening 、speaking and reading in this lesson . I’ll use the following methods: (PPT show)

1. Situational teaching method 2. Communicative teaching method 3.Task-based teaching method Part 5 Teaching procedures

In order to make students understand the teaching key points and difficult points . I’ll teach this lesson according to the following 6 steps . PPT show :

Step1 Warming up Step2 Presention and drill Step3 Practice and consolidation Step4 Extension Step5 Homework Step1 Warming up Greeting .

According to the students’ present level and the topic of this lesson . I designed a simple greeting ,and ask a question about the weather . What’s the weather like today ?

2、Sing an English song. 3、Game:Magic ear

Step2 Presentation and drill Lead in

Base on the Step1 Warm up ,the students have known this period’s topic is about weather .So ,I will ask students act it out and describe the weather like in each season.Since the students may don’t know the meaning of the word “spring” .So , at that time ,I’ll show a picture about spring .(PPT show) And say It’s spring .I like spring .Spring is warm.And then , make students read these sentences follow me .So,the students can answer my question about spring after that .Also ,we will learn the other words in the same way .(PPT show pictures about summer , autumn , winter .)

A easy song.

According to the above steps , the students have known the differences about spring , summer , autumn and winter , So , I’ll teach them to sing “1 3 5 ⅰ,ⅰ5 3 1”with the new words.

Step 3 Practice and consolidation.

1、A game----Find the frind(look and match)

2、A game----Guess,guess,guess!which season is it?(listen and guess) Step4 Extension

1、make sentences.Talk about their favorite season and make a group.

2、After that, I designed a short chant about the seasons , and show it to Ss ,let them chant with me . (PPT show )

Spring Spring Spring , it’s warm warm warm. Summer Summer Summer,it’s hot hot hot. Autumn Autumn Autumn,it’s cool cool cool . Winter Winter Winter ,it’s cold cold cold . Step 5 Homework

After class,I will ask students to talk some thing about the seasons to their parents in English . At the end of this period , I designed to let the students draw a picture about the season which they like best and then let some students show their pictures and say Why do you like it ?(PPT show) During this part , the Ss can draw something they like , they will be very interested in using the knowledge they have learned .
